They don't affect the forehead but in rare cases the nodules and pustules may appear, which then disappear by themselves without leaving scars. Cosmetic acne are usually start withing a few weeks after the use of cosmetics with comedogenic ingredients, which primarily include various vegetable oils (linseed, almond, olive) and petroleum.

There are many other types of acne which are different in appearance and need different approach in their treatments. One common treatment all types of acne have is the use of antibiotics and chemicals. Even though some very severe types of acne require to use steroids and antibiotics, the time lengths which one can safely use chemicals in acne treatment is limited and can not extend more that 2 - 3 weeks. The weakness of the skins immune system which can start to develop after the long use of chemicals may lead to other skin disorders such as rosacea and demodecosis.
